Our story
At Oliver’s Craft, we believe that determination and passion can turn challenges into opportunities. Our journey began in 2015, when our founder, David Oliver, decided to follow his dream of working for himself. Dropping out of Stellenbosch University, he started a food stall at Kruiskerk, Stellenbosch. The venture was thriving until an unfortunate car crash forced him to return home. However, rather than letting this setback define him, David’s determination only grew stronger.
From home, he launched a dark kitchen, which quickly became a success. As demand grew, he faced a challenge: the ovens he needed were far too expensive. Using his inventive spirit, David set out to design a solution. After two years of relentless testing and perfecting, he developed the first-ever 2-capacity gas-burning oven, built with efficiency and reliability in mind.
In 2018, when other businesses began inquiring about his oven, David saw a clear opportunity in the market. He expanded his offerings to include a 4-capacity oven, marking the birth of Oliver’s Craft. The company was founded on a simple yet powerful principle: to create high-quality, affordable ovens that cater to both businesses and home chefs.
As we continue to grow, we remain committed to innovation. In 2023, we tested and launched our upgraded oven designs, and in 2024, our love for product design and desire to create efficient production workflows expanded into new areas, including the development of cutting-edge kitchen equipment such a pneumatic dough press, dough divider, and dough rounder.
At Oliver’s Craft, we are constantly evolving, inspired by our beginnings and driven by the desire to create the best products for our customers. What started as a single oven has grown into a company that helps chefs and businesses alike create amazing food with the best tools available.
